Using Stuff Up - Some Options

If you want to get serious about generating less food waste, you need an arsenal of  "Bits and Bobs" recipes at the ready! "Bits and Bobs" recipes are the ones where you can throw in a bit of this or a bit of that, and it still works out really well. Or a recipe that uses up food items that typically spoil quickly. Here's my round-up of recipes that fit the bill ...

You can never go wrong with Risotto. It needs you to stay by the stove for about a half an hour or so, but you can toss just about anything in!

Baked Potato Soup is a great way to use up a bit of leftover bacon.

And we all know that Banana Bread is the best way to use up old bananas.

Another great recipe for the bits & pieces you find in your fridge is Egg Rooshkin-Shnooshkin.

If you have some asparagus that's about to go, try this Asparagus-Gruyere Tart.

This Beef Vegetable Soup recipe is a great way to use up vegetables that have seen better days.

Eton Mess is super for using up berries ... or whipping cream for that matter ... just adjust the amounts based on how many berries you have!

And this Super-Easy Stir Fry can take just about anything you throw at it!

Last year, I even used up our leftover candy canes, by making them into Valentine Heart Lollipops!

So, set aside a section of your Recipe Binder for "Bits & Bobs" ...

and never throw out perfectly good food again!!
